About

About.

I am a single mother of 2 boys (7&9) who has many more ‘kids’. Though only my two are actually mine, there are many others who I categorize as ‘my kids’. I have a niece and a nephew who spend quite a bit of time in my house, kids who drop in whenever to hang out and I work in a school that has approximately 360 students….all of these are my kids.
I work 2 jobs part time (food service management and the school) and 2 jobs full time (mom and taking care of my house and everyone in it no matter how many kids are there that day). I am also vice president of the PTA.
I don’t drink (no time for that….me time is reserved for sleep), I don’t go to the gym, I don’t drive and I am not inclined to search for that someone special right now.
I believe that kids have a lot to teach us and we have a lot to teach them.
I believe that everyone has a right to their beliefs and no one has a right to tell others what they should believe. If it works for you than it works!
I believe we all have a responsibility to be honest with others. I am not telling you that you should believe this too, just that I would appreciate it if you are honest with me.
I believe there is something worth learning in everyday.
I am optimistic, organized, picky and sometimes silly. I am also fully aware that the acronym for this is oops(s)—I am aware that we all make mistakes.

Feel free to join me on my daily discoveries and reflections!

And finally, I know that No matter how dark the day, the sun is always shining somewhere!

Hi! I, too, am a single parent of two kids similar in age (10 and 9 – both boys) and have multiple jobs, though only one pays (in financial terms). I’ve been divorced 6-7 years, and for the first couple of years I DESPERATELY hoped to meet someone who would be a good stepfather/co-parent/new husband . . . but eventually decided, “Nah, who needs it?” Frankly I don’t have time for a man in my life. I’m an aspiring author and barely have time to work on my writing after I spend the week 1) cooking real food, 2) doing laundry and cleaning, 3) overseeing homework, violin practice, sports activities, free play at the park, 4) playing games, reading aloud, and everything else which constitutes a healthy family life, and 5) working the part-time greenback job.

I live in Texas, where do you live? One of the drawbacks of the Internet is getting to ‘know’ people you never get to actually meet in person. Such a bummer!

Enjoy the spring weather: here in Texas we get only about one week of it before the summer heat takes over prematurely! (ha)

I am actually in Nova Scotia, Canada. I was like you, those first couple of years, I too was on the “daddy search”. I actually found one, but let him slip away. He does still call/visit the boys though (more than I can say for their biological father). I hit the “why bother” point about 5-6 year ago…and I totally agree…no time for an “other half” now. I love my province’s moody temperatures! I would go (more) crazy with the kind of heat you get down there! Thank you for stopping by and for reading!
